Celtic Stole

I’ve been wearing a new stole the past two weeks …

I’m actually really proud of this stole.  When Betsy and I were working on my Easter stole, we thought it would be nice to put a cross on the back of it so it was double sided and I could wear it more than once or twice a year.  So we got to work drawing out a cross …

But the shape of the cross reminded me of a Celtic Cross …

So then I cut out a circle …

But when I put it together I decided it really needed to be balanced on both sides with an identical cross …

So I cut out another cross and circle …

Then Betsy and I decided the idea of a double sided stole had gotten too complicated to finish before Easter so we finished the Easter stole and a few days later I found myself at Joann’s looking for new fabric.

I love the fabric we put this on. It has little circles on it, which really tie the Celtic crosses in nicely.  And the colors of the fabric?  GORGEOUS!  I love the gold on top of that royal blue.

I have been wearing this one through the Easter season, but I think it will also serve me nicely for weddings and funerals throughout the year.

My stole count is up to 15 … excessive?

  1. A great reason to buy a new pair of heels (or two) to go with the new stoles! Does this make you a Passionista (vs fashionista)?
