First Day of School (Church School, that is!)

It is safe to say that these back to school pics parents have been posting for weeks are killing me.  Cuteness.  Overload.  The smiles, the pinterest-y signs, the side-by-side “last year’s pic compared to this year’s” – I’ve used the “love” button on Facebook more since the middle of August than I have since it first came out.

So then this happened.

I couldn’t help myself – I love a good photo prompt.

I actually ordered it through Staples.  They have a “pick up today” option that I discovered last year when we were Trotting for Bella and I decided 18 hours before the race that I wanted a banner..  This was about $25 (it was originally $30 but I googled for a coupon code) and the quality was perfect for what I needed it for!

A couple of people asked me why I put a date on it, because now we can’t use it next year.  I thought about ordering one without a date but, honestly – this cost less than what we spend on altar flowers every week.  In the grand scheme of things, I thought it was nice to have a banner that tied into what I was doing this year.  I designed it specifically using the color scheme of our Rally Day flyers …

… and the colors were pulled from the RCCSTRONG group photo that we took on Children’s Day that we obviously wouldn’t use again.  And who knows if first day sign pictures will even be a trend next year?  People might be taking pictures with an entirely different inanimate object.

Anyway, no one got out of the pancake breakfast without a photo on Sunday.

First Day of Church School

I encouraged everyone to post their photos and tag them #RCCSTRONG.  I honestly think the best way for people looking for a church to find out about your church is through the friends and family so I am constantly harping on our people to use their social media to talk about the church!

Oh … and this is really the shot that I wanted:

Ready for a new year!

It’s so wonderful to be back in the swing of things and to start implementing some semblance of a routine again.  You never know what a new program year is going to bring and right now I think we are all just open to see where God takes us next on our journey!

Happy first day, friends!
