Happy Labor Day!
We are less than a week from Rally Day at RCC and as busy as I am getting ready for the year, I am not quite ready to let go of our summer yet. We’ve had a blast!
The summer started with an amazing Children’s Day celebration, complete with a cook-out that set off the fire alarm, a petting zoo and a photo booth.
At the end of June we hosted a youth bell choir from Connecticut! They were amazing – so professional and fantastic musicians! It was a great night of music, food and fellowship!
Our “Prayerful Paddlers” took three trips this summer – we had over a dozen kayaks and canoes hit the water.
Goofballs.

VBS was awesome! We used Cokesbury’s curriculum “Workshop of Wonders” and had so much fun!
The Youth Group retreated down at the Craigville Conference Center on the cape. They did some fundraising beforehand, including a yard sale.
The church itself had a major facelift! In addition to these awesome ladies working their green thumb magic, the church was also painted and a new door was installed by our offices.
Book club discussed this hilarious book! A must-read, especially if you love Melanie’s blog.
SO MUCH AMAZING MUSIC! Beatles Sunday, a cappella group (I sang in church more this summer than I have in the three years I have been here!) and some fantastic soloists.
As much as I am looking forward to seeing what the fall season will bring, I am a little sad to see the summer end. On a personal level, it was a little hectic – between the surgery I had back in June and the arrival of my nephew, I’ve found myself frazzled at times. But I am so grateful for my awesome husband and my amazing friends who have listened to me, taken care of me and distracted me when I was feeling under the weather.
A new season is among us! Thanks be to God!
