Call To Worship • Resurrection

Hi friends!  Sorry I’ve been quiet on here the past few weeks – I was away from the pulpit for two weeks and then last Sunday was Beatles Sunday, which meant I didn’t preach.  I’m back to work and looking ahead to the fall – trying to wrap up a few things and then plan for the upcoming program year.  I realized that I wrote some liturgy we have used this summer that I never got around to posting, so I am going to get caught up!  This is the Call to Worship we used for the second-to-the-last Sunday in the Year of Mark – the shorter ending.  This would work well on Easter!

Call To Worship • Resurrection • Mark (Shorter Ending)
Rev. Sarah Weaver

The Sabbath is over.
Morning is here.
The sun is risen.
The women enter the tomb,
but the stone is rolled back
and Jesus is not there.
The woman are scared,
but there in front of them
is a young man in a white robe who says,
“Do not be afraid. Jesus is not here. He is risen.”
Death did not have the final word.
Christ is risen!
He is risen, indeed!
Let us worship our risen Lord.
Let us worship God!
